Quote of the Day: 10/7/11

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

-Steve Jobs

I’ve said it a hundred times, but when Steve Jobs says it, it sounds so much better. You have to believe in something. Learning from your past is the only way to have a successful and enjoyable future. Without connecting the dots of you past, you miss the little details that compose the decisions and actions you have experienced throughout your life. Without the details, you won’t be able to recognize what led to great actions and decisions and what led to horrible ones. Trust in yourself and your ‘karma,’ and you will learn from every mistake and your dots will always be connected.

Note: I didn’t have any idea what was happening with Steve Jobs’ personal life when I chose him as my inspirational figure for the week on Monday. I am honored to have lived during the time of such an incredible innovator, and I cannot wait until the next one comes from the shadows just as Steve did. He was a great man, and on the best business owners of all time. I could never say enough to honor the man’s memory. I only hope that his quotes serve as a reminder to all of us that we can achieve great things if we work hard, have passion for what we are doing, and NEVER GIVE UP. Go kick some ass this weekend readers.
