“Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage — to move in the opposite direction.”
-Albert Einstein
I chose this quote in honor of the Beerbongs for World Peace party that is coming up this Friday in San Luis Obispo at the Creeky Tiki. It’s interesting how people can be so violent. A person that becomes violent is someone that is giving in to their animal instinct. Humans, by nature, are reactive creatures; we respond to the things that happen around us. When things happen that cause frustration or fear, a human’s first response is with violence and emotion. That is not the way to behave in a civilized world, though.
For people to interact appropriately, it takes discretion. Einstein says courage, because it’s fighting fear. Fear that you will look stupid, lose confidence, or get your feelings hurt. If you are able to move past that fear, and keep your mind at ease, then you will appear more intelligent and more mature. Don’t let your frustrations get the best of you; always keep your inner peace, and those around you will act accordingly.
