Joshua Jacobs has two passions: music and helping others. His love of music started back in elementary school when he started playing trumpet. It didn’t take long for Josh to purchase a Walkman and listen to his two favorite artists, The Killers and Fat Boy Slim, on repeat for hours on end. Still, Josh wasn’t what you would call a true music ‘enthusiast’ until the year 2008, when he attended Monster Massive in Los Angeles, and had his mind completely blown by the EDM scene. The rest, as they say, is history. Ever since, Josh has immersed himself in the musical world. Now an avid music blogger and attendee to every major music show he can afford to see, Josh hopes to spread his love of music and his voice to the rest of the world.

Quote of the Day: 9/28/11

“It is a man’s own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him to evil ways.” -Buddha Everyone’s responsible for his or her own actions. No matter what. Unless you are at gunpoint, then you have no excuses for your actions. Always take responsibility for what happens in your own life, and spread that […]Read Post ›

Quote of the Day: 9/27/11

“An insincere and evil friend is more to be feared than a wild beast; a wild beast may wound your body, but an evil friend will wound your mind.” -Buddha Sincerity is crucial to a long-lasting friendship. Sincerity means being honest, truthful, and meaning what you say. Without sincerity, you will never be trusted by […]Read Post ›

Quote of the Day: 9/26/11

“Life can only take place in the present moment. If we lose the present moment, we lose life.” -Buddha Don’t get lost in the past. What’s done is done, and we can only apply what we have learned to how we live each day. Don’t focus too much on the future; you’ll forget to enjoy […]Read Post ›

Quote of the Day: 9/23/11

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.” -Albert Einstein Curiosity may have killed the cat, but the cat has 9 lives. Humans unfortunately don’t have 9 lives, but then again we don’t usually die from curiosity. Curiosity is the fire of the human spirit. Consider Colombus; if […]Read Post ›

The Four Referability Habits

Note: I want to apologize for my tardiness with this post (which is ironic, since the topic is referability). I have been focusing on other projects recently, and have let my advice columns slip; for that I am sorry. That being said, let’s get down to business. The Four Referability Habits. Yes I know referability […]Read Post ›

Quote of the Day: 9/22/11

“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” -Albert Einstein Often when we are faced with a difficult situation, we slip into a state of mind that prevents rational problem solving. When we get stressed, our blood pressure increases, and our mode of thought changes. Our […]Read Post ›

Quote of the Day: 9/21/11

“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.” -Albert Einstein Repressed. If you’ve ever been called it, you know it means sheltered. Unexposed to the elements, and the harshness of life. Sometimes being repressed is brought upon by overprotective parents and a cushy upbringing. Other times, and more commonly, it is […]Read Post ›

Quote of the Day: 9/20/11

“Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage — to move in the opposite direction.” -Albert Einstein I chose this quote in honor of the Beerbongs for World Peace party that is coming up this Friday in San Luis […]Read Post ›

Quote of the Day: 9/19/11

“Logic will get you from A to B, Imagination will get you ANYWHERE.” -Albert Einstein Today is a day for new beginnings. The summer is coming to a close, the leaves are starting the change, the weather starting to cool. Responsibility is being thrust upon us after the lazy summer days. That doesn’t mean you […]Read Post ›

Quote of the Week: 9/12/11

“Now, we have inscribed a new memory alongside those others. It’s a memory of tragedy and shock, of loss and mourning. But not only of loss and mourning. It’s also a memory of bravery and self-sacrifice, and the love that lays down its life for a friend–even a friend whose name it never knew. “ […]Read Post ›
