Quote of the Day: 11/1/11

“Success comes from knowing that you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.”

-John Wooden

This quote is slightly confusing, and requires a couple read throughs to really get it. Obviously, Wooden is talking about success. What he says is that you are successful when you KNOW that you did your best. But doing your best at what? At becoming the best. Becoming the best at what? The best you are capable of becoming. So to look at backwards, each person is capable of reaching a certain level of excellence. When you have reached the full level you are capable of becoming, or at least tried your best to get there, and you know that you did, then you are successful. Not all of us will cure cancer, win a Super Bowl, or make a million dollars a year. However, we are all meant for some form of greatness, and it’s our job to try the best we can to get there. Good luck this month readers.
